The vanish of Harper Lee

Was it right for Harper Lee to vanish a go away like she has done for the past years?. To me I think that it was a good idea for her to lay low for a while for all of the things that were going on when her book came out. All of the things that were going of when her book came out like all of the hate coming onto Harper Lee and the racism at the time was huge and that is why she wrote the book. Now I also thing that it was a bad idea for her to go into hiding because she doesn’t get all of he fame and popularity she deserved. So that is what I think about Harper Lee going into hiding.

Jem

Jem ages from 10 to 13 over the course of To Kill a Mockingbird, a period of great change in any child’s life. Jem is no exception to this rule. Interestingly, the changes he undergoes are seen from the point-of-view of a younger sister, which gives a unique perspective on his growth.

Jem represents the idea of bravery in the novel, and the way that his definition changes over the course of the story is important. The shift that occurs probably has as much to do with age as experience, although the experiences provide a better framework for the reader. When the story begins, Jem’s idea of bravery is simply touching the side of the Radley house and then only because “In all his life, Jem had never declined a dare. But as the story progresses, Jem learns about bravery from Atticus facing a mad dog, from Mrs. Dubose’s fight with addiction, and from Scout’s confrontation with the mob at the jail, among others. And along the way, he grows from a boy who drags his sister along as a co conspirator to a young gentleman who protects his Scout and tries to help her understand the implications of the events around her.

Scout

Scout may or may not be a lover, but she’s definitely a fighter. At the beginning of the novel, fighting is her solution to everything. She goes after Walter Cunningham after she gets in trouble on his behalf on the first day of school, she beats up Dill when she thinks he’s not paying enough attention to her, and she kicks a member of the lynch mob where it counts, no less when he grabs Jem. When news of Atticus’s defense of Tom Robinson percolates down to the schoolyard, it’s no wonder that she responds with her fists to the kids’ ugly name calling.

Atticus Finch

Atticus Finch is the exemplary lawyer and father from the 1960 Harper Lee novel To Kill A Mockingbird. Thanks to the successful film version of the book 1962, the character is strongly associated with actor Gregory Peck, who won an Oscar as Finch and earned a place in American cinema as an all time favorite hero. Set in a small town in Alabama in the 1930s, the novel is the story of the young girl Scout, her brother Jem and their widowed father, Atticus, a small town attorney respected for his honesty and intelligence. Part of the novel centers around a court case in which Atticus defends a black man accused of raping a white woman. Along the way Atticus helps downtrodden neighbors, fends off a lynch mob, saves the day with surprisingly expert marksmanship and preaches justice with a quiet but forceful integrity. Atticus Finch is a lock on anyone’s list of favorite fictional lawyers (and probably favorite dads); in 1997 the Alabama State Bar erected a monument in his honor in Monroeville, Alabama, the home of novelist Lee.

What I think about to kill a mocking bird.

To me To Kill a Mockingbird is a very confusing book. It goes from one character to another  all of the time, and it seems to talk about everything that comes up in the book. I can not think of anything off the top of my head but I know that if it were to say something like there was a car crash there and 2 people were killed, it would take at least 3 to 4 paragraphs before you could fully understand what really happened.

And what I mean by it always goes back and forth between characters it is like if there is something going on with Atticus it would spend a little bit of time talking about him but then suddenly and unexpectedly switch over to Jem with out notice. So that is only a little bit of what I think about the book.

If Maycomb were Disney World , the Radley Place would be the Haunted mansion. And the Finch kids aren’t the only ones who avoid it. A Negro would not pass the Radley Place at night, he would cut across to the sidewalk opposite and whistle as he walked. The Maycomb school grounds adjoined the back of the Radley lot from the Radley chicken yard tall pecan trees shook their fruit into the schoolyard, but the nuts lay untouched by the children Radley pecans would kill you. A baseball hit into the Radley yard was a lost ball and no questions asked. The kids assume the pecans will kill them the yard swallows balls and even the African Americans seem to have their own set of superstitions around it. It occupies a specific place in the community, a stand in for all the fears of the unknown.

Jem’s breaking his arm at the beginning of the story sets of the rest of the story for Scout. Scout goes on to relate to When Jem broke his arm at the beginning of the book . It provides a starting point for scout to relate to Jem’s memories. This is important to me because if I broke my arm and would not be able to play sports and do all of the other things I love to do I do not know what I would. I  think that Jem and I relate in one way we both like Football and if he has the same love for sports as I do then I feel very bad for him. This also sets a flashback for Jem when Scout gets injured to when he broke his arm and, and then he remembers what he couldn’t do and how hard it was to get through it.

Canada’s National team

The national team is made up of the best climbers from 16 to 30 years of age.It is my dream to be on the team but i have to wait until I am 16 years old. The standard climbing grade that you have to climb if you are on the team is v6 i have sent witch means done a v9 that is 3 grades harder than standard level for 16 years old. I think the standard grade for women is v5 i am not sure it could be the same but that is unlikely because all of the compositions the men’s climbing grade is 1-2 grades higher.  Either way you have to be very good at rock climbing to be on the team. But there is one problem you have to do compositions to get on the team and i don’t like them. you have to do nationals and then if you get top 100 then you move in to worlds and then if you win that or come in top 1000 then you go o the the try out team, once you are there you do one comp and if you meet their expectations then you are on the team. One of the good parts about being on the team is that they pay for your flights around the world to compete. So those are my plans for when i am 16 asides from getting my L.
