Jem’s breaking his arm at the beginning of the story sets of the rest of the story for Scout. Scout goes on to relate to When Jem broke his arm at the beginning of the book . It provides a starting point for scout to relate to Jem’s memories. This is important to me because if I broke my arm and would not be able to play sports and do all of the other things I love to do I do not know what I would. I think that Jem and I relate in one way we both like Football and if he has the same love for sports as I do then I feel very bad for him. This also sets a flashback for Jem when Scout gets injured to when he broke his arm and, and then he remembers what he couldn’t do and how hard it was to get through it.
